Hanlon is an established neighborhood in Northwest Baltimore consisting of 55 tree-lined blocks bordering Gwynns Falls Parkway to the South, Garrison Blvd to the West, Powhatan Avenue to the North, and Hanlon Park to the East. The Hanlon neighborhood began as a part of the Vickers estate back around the turn of the century, and was later developed into several large estates and summer homes. The area was later established as a suburb of Baltimore City.

Residents of Hanlon  can boast of having a City park, tennis courts, and a lake in their backyard, with a major shopping mall, state university, and the Maryland Zoo within minutes from their doors! As a Healthy Neighborhoods community, residents and potential residents have access to funding incentives available to purchase and preserve their homes. • Location: The community boundaries are Gwynns Falls Pkwy, Garrison Blvd, Powhatan Ave and N. Longwood St.

• Shopping: Hanlon residents can experience convenient shopping literally next door at the newly developed Mondawmin Mall which provides a variety of large stores, small shops and service (clothing, food, and personal services.),  Residents are also a short drive away from Reisterstown Road and Security Square Malls. Harborplace and suburban shopping at Towson, Owings Mills, Columbia, Route 40 / Westview, and Arundel Mills are close by as well.

• Parks & Recreation: Hanlon Park borders the community of Hanlon, and along with Druid Hill Park, Leakin Park, Forest Park Golf Course, Maryland Zoo, Carrie Murray Outward Bound Center, and Gwynn Falls Walking Watershed Trails, provides a great variety of fun, recreation, and relaxation for everyone.

• Transportation Information: Travel is easy for Hanlon residents with the Metro Station at Mondawmin Mall, a transportation hub for a number of bus lines. A short commute will get you to downtown, Penn and West Baltimore train stations, Thurgood Marshall- BWI Airport, and the surrounding counties. Hanlon is easily accessible to the light rail (North Ave), connecting Metro stations, and major highways: I-40, 70, 83, 695, and 95.
