Established in June 1999 and incorporated in March 2007, the GO Northwest Housing Resource Center is a comprehensive home ownership counseling and community services non- profit agency. Located in beautiful northwest Baltimore City, our offices are inside the Garwyn Medical Center.

 

Mission - Ensuring healthy, stable neighborhoods by equipping potential and

existing residents to obtain, maintain and/or retain their homes successfully.

 

Goals:

  • Assist homebuyers/homeowners to make positive homeownership choices and sustain their community.
  • Restore and preserve the appearance, condition and the value of the housing stock.
  • Grown and sustain the home ownership rate.

 

Accomplishments:

  • Since its creation, the GO Northwest has provided home ownership education and counseling for Baltimore home buyers and homeowners.
  • Designated as a Baltimore Housing Counseling Agency Center for local, state and federal housing counseling and closing cost programs.
  • Designated as a Healthy Neighborhoods site in NW Baltimore and facilitated Healthy Neighborhoods.
  • Beautification Block Projects throughout the Garwyn Oaks & Hanlon communities.
  • Established effective relations with government agencies and community funders and stake holders.    
  • We keep our constituents informed, and promote our communities  through our quarterly newsletter, web page, and educational materials.
  • Achieved city wide recognition and acceptance of “Garwyn Oaks” as a community name.

 

The GO NWHRC market’s community assets, services and activities through

production and distribution of promotional literature, community newsletter and

community events.
