GO Northwest Housing Resource Center is offering a $7,500 closing cost/downpayment incentive to eligible homebuyers buying in Ashburton, Callaway-Garrison, Garwyn Oaks, Hanlon and Howard Park. This program can help reduce out-of-pocket cost for purchasing a house and be stacked with other down payment and closing cost assistance programs.

These five communities in Northwest Baltimore are some of Baltimore’s best hidden treasures! Quiet tree-lined streets, spacious houses, easy access to downtown, shopping, major roadways and outstanding schools—places you can call home!

 Homebuyer Qualifications: 
• Be a first-time homebuyer
• Purchase a home in the our partner communities mentioned above
• Contribute at least $1,000 of their own money to purchase the home
• Apply and be approved for the grant prior to closing on the home. Program funds are not retroactive.
• Use a fixed-rate mortgage only. Co-signers, cash sales, and owner-financing are not permitted.
• The property must be the buyer’s only residence.
• Not have an ownership interest in another residential property at the time of settlement on the new purchase.
• Must live in the home as their primary residence for at least 5 years.
• Property is not to be used as a commercially zoned property.
• Income eligibility: up to 150%  of the area median income (AMI)
• Pass an asset test
• Earn a homeownership counseling certificate through GO Northwest Housing Resource Center before making an offer on the home
